All About Espresso Coffee And Espresso Makers

Although the espresso coffee has not been around for as long as other coffees, it is well loved by a lot of coffee lovers from all around the world. In fact, its popularity is far higher than many other forms of coffees. This is probably because espresso has a very unique taste and it is also more concentrated than other coffees.

Originating from Italy, the espresso coffee is also known as a form of romantic coffee beverage as you do not need to drink a large cup to fill you up. Nevertheless, espresso is different in ingredients from other kinds of coffees. The easiest way to make an aromatic cup of espresso is to use espresso makers. What actually happens is that the finely ground coffee beans are put into the espresso machines which would use the steam from hot water to heat up the coffee seeds.

Alternatively, if you have a pump-driven, instead of a steam-driven espresso maker, you can use the pump to force hot water through the espresso coffee powder. This results in richer, thicker and more aromatic espresso coffees because a pump can exert more pressure than the steam-driven machines. Then, the thick and drippy espresso is filled into a small cup. When you are rating the espresso coffee, you should also consider how thick the beverage is. Typically, a thick and aromatic cup of espresso is about 3 to 4 times that of a cup of regular black coffee.

Another characteristic that sets the espresso apart from its counterparts is the layer of reddish-brown crema that can be found floating on the top of the drink. This foamy crema is the favorite part of the drink for most espresso lovers and it is part of the espresso itself. However, you can only get this foamy substance if you are using the pump-driven espresso makers as the steam-driven ones are not able to produce this crema.

To add extra flavors to the drink, you can even sprinkle chocolate shavings, cinnamon or add whipped cream on this layer of crema. If you think that espresso must be a large cup of drink, you cannot be further from the truth because it is typically served in 1-ounce shot glasses! If you want to enjoy a delicious cup of espresso everyday, you can do so by buying an espresso maker and making the drink right from the comfort of your home. It will save you a lot of time and even money in the long run. What can be more heavenly than enjoying a cup of tasty and foamy espresso at the end of a long and tiring working day!

I have a steam press espresso maker going on four years and dread the day when I have to find another one. I think life is too short for bad coffee!
